StatementI’ve become increasingly interested in how each of us harbor many identities within and without ourselves. Stories of transcending preconceived ideas about others, as well, rising above who we are. Stories of personal issues and tragedy. Stories about how we assume ideologies to alleviate our fears. All that which is involved in the process of living with consciousness. Consciousness to Jean-Paul Sartre was the great negator - that which is not what it seems and always seems that which it is not. The work exhibited here is informed by thirty four years of my own entanglement with the process of living, more intensively, the past nine years of living with the process of making art. This process for me has become involved in, and informed by observation, self-examination and cathartic episodes - indeed, life and death in paint Click here to view chronology
