Digital Photography
Statement
While I am no stranger to the palette,
having many years of line drawing
and painting behind me, it is through
the developing medium of digital
photography that I currently find
artistic expression
Taking advantage of the freshness
and raw character of this medium, I
have initially captured what is perceived
as "the familiar"–landscapes, buildings,
people, and objects–through the lens of
a digital camera. The image is then trans-
formed, creating an illusory thematic
presentation with style and presence.
Realism, abstraction, and surrealism
can be seen as influencing this image.
The viewer is now presented with a new
vision, a fresh insight, into things
heretofore thought "common".
