Statement

For me, photography is about wanting to know more,
and these photographs are part of an attempt to know
more about North Dakota.
     In 1984 I moved from St. Paul to North Dakota to
take my first job as a photographer at The Minot Daily
News. Since then I've been exploring the state with my
camera, documenting what I see. These are 25 of my
favorite images. Each image captures a compelling
moment that revealed something significant about the
state to me.
     They remind me what a joy and privilege it is to be
a photographer.
